Arnold Chan

Arnold Chan is a PhD candidate in the Department of Chemistry. He is a member of Professor Lin X. Chen's lab, where he studies the structural dynamics of biomolecules with time-resolved X-ray scattering techniques. Arnold grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and went to UC Berkeley for his B.S. in Chemistry. Outside of school, he enjoys golfing, hiking, and listening to music.   

Michael Evangelopoulos

Michael Evangelopoulos

McCormick School of Engineering, Biomedical Engineering

Michael Evangelopoulos is a PhD candidate in Northwestern’s Department of Biomedical Engineering. His work centers on the development of immunotherapies and understanding their application for the treatment of cancer. He grew up in Houston, Texas and received a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Houston. Prior to Northwestern, he worked at the Houston Methodist Research Institute where he used nanotechnology to develop cutting-edge therapies. Outside of research, Michael enjoys playing squash, weightlifting, and reading.

MFA Directing Program

Sarah is a graduate student at Northwestern's MFA in Directing Program. She has worked as a freelance actor, director and educator in Chicago for the past 15 years. At Northwestern Sarah directed Tea and Sympathy, The Wolves, and an upcoming production of Peerless. Originally hailing from Washington, DC, Sarah graduated from Kenyon College. In her spare time Sarah can be found cooking, reading, painting, and chasing after her toddler, Charlie.

Cordelia Rizzo

Cordelia Rizzo

School of Communications, Performance Studies

Cordelia Rizzo is an activist scholar pursuing a PhD in Performance Studies at Northwestern University. She holds an M.A. in Philosophy from the KU Leuven. Her work examines the power of textile making to language the urgency of standing in solidarity with victims of organized violence. Prior to coming to Northwestern she dedicated most of her time to the defense of Human Rights, dabbling in state bureaucracy, autonomous organizing, and workshop facilitation. Through her involvement with a group of mothers of the disappeared in her native Monterrey, Mexico, she stumbled upon her current doctoral research project. Cordelia loves to craft, misses going to concerts, and likes to cook.
